What We Are Looking For
For a leading international Defence company based in Rome, we are looking for a C++/Qt Software Engineer with experience in the design and development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI).
The selected candidate will be involved in the design, development, integration and validation of software applications, contributing to the creation of intuitive, user-friendly and high-performance interfaces. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the effective integration of user interfaces with application functionalities and to enhance the overall user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain software applications using C++ and Qt;
- Design and implement modern, intuitive and responsive Graphical User Interfaces (GUI);Develop user interface components leveraging the main features of the Qt Framework;
- Manage user interactions, event handling and application workflows;
- Design and organize layouts according to usability and UX best practices;
- Integrate graphical interfaces with application functionalities and backend components;
- Collaborate with software, system and validation teams throughout the development lifecycle;
- Contribute to the improvement of User Experience (UX) and usability aspects;
- Support software integration, testing and troubleshooting activities;
- Produce and maintain technical documentation according to project standards.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines;
- Proven experience in C++ Software Development;
- Strong knowledge of the Qt Framework and its main components;
- Experience in the design and development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI);
- Experience with event handling, signals & slots, widgets and layout management;
- Experience integrating user interfaces with application functionalities;
- Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles and usability best practices;
- Knowledge of Git Hub version control systems;
- Experience with Jenkins and CMake;
- Experience in software integration, testing and troubleshooting;
- Good English communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Railway or other highly regulated environments;
- Experience in writing, maintaining and managing technical documentation;
- Knowledge of requirements and documentation management tools such as DOORS or similar;
- Experience working in Agile environments;
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence;
- Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and automated software delivery processes;
- Knowledge of software design patterns and software architecture principles;
- Experience with Qt Quick/QML.
Yearly Gross Salary: €40,000 - €50,000
