What to expect:
-
Create fully constructed 2D and 3D CAD models for all seat variants (1st class, 2nd class, foldable/tip‑up, lounge).
-
Maintain native CREO models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project interfaces (carbody, C‑rail, air duct installation space).
-
Ensure CAD models are free of critical errors, including modeling inconsistencies or open solids.
-
Design key components including: seat structure & cantilever systems, armrests/handrails, back panels & trims, upholstery, foam, and coverings (trim development).
-
Develop kinematics for adjustable and folding mechanisms, ensuring functional chains are validated.
-
Apply correct material specifications (e.g., CR780Y980T-CP, CR420LA, CR380LA).
-
Design joining solutions using MAG welding, screwing, and adhesive bonding according to relevant standards.
-
Incorporate feedback from prototype builders, customers and series suppliers.
-
Participate in technical review rounds led by the OEM.
-
Integrate manufacturability insights (mold‑flow results, tooling constraints, welding feasibility.
What you bring along:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
-
Proven experience in CAD design, ideally using PTC Creo for metal structures and trim parts.
-
Knowledge of seat design, railway or automotive interiors, or other safety‑critical mechanical systems.
-
Strong understanding of:
-
Sheet metal design and high‑strength steel materials (e.g., CR-series steels).
-
Joining technologies (MAG welding, bolting, industrial adhesives) _ | PowerPoint]
-
Kinematic systems, linkages, and movement mechanisms.
-
Trim & foam development for upholstery.
-
Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards (DIN EN 15085‑5, DIN EN 17460).
