We are looking for a highly skilled BMS Function Validation & Calibration Engineer to join our EV development team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating, testing, and calibrating Battery Management System (BMS) software functions within modern electric vehicle architectures.
You will work across multiple control units and collaborate closely with function owners, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure robust software performance, compliance with requirements, and successful release approvals. This position combines hands-on validation, calibration, and system-level analysis in both vehicle and test bench environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test, validate, and calibrate BMS software functions across multiple ECUs and vehicle systems
- Develop, manage, and execute test plans and test campaigns according to project requirements
- Perform software validation activities on vehicles and test facilities (e.g. HiL, test benches)
- Analyze test results and provide clear, structured, and comprehensive test reports
- Detect, investigate, and report system anomalies, including root-cause analysis using diagnostic data and traces
- Develop and optimize BMS software calibrations to meet performance and timing targets
- Support BMS software development and integration at project level
- Collaborate with function owners and suppliers for configuration alignment and issue resolution
- Update functional specifications, requirements, and test catalogues based on software changes
- Support software release processes, including documentation and approval activities
- Participate in test trips and validation campaigns
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in automotive function validation, testing, or application, preferably in EVs
- Experience in anomaly detection and root-cause analysis
- Strong knowledge of CAN and Ethernet communication protocols
- Experience with Vector toolchain (e.g. CANape, CANoe) and diagnostic tools
- Experience with HiL testing and validation of E/E systems
- Good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a structured manner
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience with charging systems and energy management is considered a plus
