Leader Engineer for Powertrain (ICE) Development

The Leader Engineer for Powertrain (ICE) Development (Leader Ingénierie Mise Au Point) (LI MAP) is an engineer (degree in Mechanics and Mechatronics Engineering, Transports Engineering or similar) with:

 At least 3-4 years of experience, good knowledge of the automotive engineering sector and technical background in powertrain management system (Internal Combustion Engines and Electric Machines), Powertrain Calibrations (petrol or diesel engines and hybrids or electric) and Software Knowledge of the V Cycle development method;
 Knowledge of embedded software design system;
 Knowledge of International Automotive Task Force (IATF) standard (16949:2016);
 Knowledge of different systems specific to internal combustion engine control, electric, electronic circuit architecture analysis and automotive Electronic Control Units SW development/analysis - writing requirements, decomposition, and allocation of requirements to different impacted systems;
 Knowledge of REMS, AEMS, and AT engine control software;
 Knowledge of car communication protocols and Vector tools;
 Knowledge of specific automotive software (JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink, DDT2000, OneVal, CANalyzer, ASTRAL, CONCERTO, CRETA, INCA, MDA, SBM, Totem, etc.);
 Knowledge of V3P3/4 engine development logic by HORSE
 Knowledge of English language (French language knowledge is “nice to have”).

The LI MAP will report to an activity manager and will perform the following actions:
 Manage the MAP and Application services to ensure the convergence of the calibration system with project milestones, guaranteeing compliance with MAP standards and the QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) defined by the ASM (Architecte Synthèse Mécanique).;
 Work with ASMd and represents them in various meetings with the project team and the vehicle team (to define calibration deliveries to external stakeholders, incident reports, VDC, Homologation, and factories);
 Work with SPL (Software Project Leaders), RAC (Responsable Assemblage Calibration) and PSV (Pilote Système Validation) teams, to keep the calibration system schedule up to date;
 Is responsible for cross-referencing the specifications for services, emissions, OBD (On-Board Diagnostics), reliability, and braking from the various partner trades (H-Prestation, H-Design, Horse) and sharing them with the MAP teams;
 Is responsible for organizing and carrying out MAP work and validation missions to ensure the convergence of services and compliance with the specifications;
 Is in charge of rescuing the development cost (FTE / Bench hours / Driving km) and mission cost established with the ASMd at the start of the project;
 Is in charge with the project kick-off for the MAP & Application teams
 Must deliver a checklist and a business quality commitment for each project milestone must be prepared two weeks before the milestone date;
 Must take care of the deliverables indicated in the MAP PFE CL (ToH, DE TR transparency file, RDE Monitoring, IUPR letter, GSP file, etc.);
 Is responsible of the minutes of the Development Progress Meetings and verifies the schedule of calibration deliverables or test reports for other departments: Reliability, Homologation, Braking, Performance (Emissions/Consumption Matrix), PIE, and Plant.
 Is responsible for ensuring calibration corresponding to project needs (e.g., PIE calibration, DEAMU calibration, MADC calibration for vehicle prototyping: PFC batch and VC calibration);
 Drafts the STCCM plans for the plant, MAP information sheets, and advance progress reports for the DE TR;
 Documents the NRL, GRP, and AES/BES files with the ASM;
 Tracks the list of test sheets and performance summary files for project milestones and convergence;
 Documents the DDMRS – Demonstration file of security risk management – ​​with impact on the MAP scope (DDMRS-MAP sheet received from PSV/ASMd).
 Build with the engine development/tuning (Mise Au Point) teams the control strategies adapted to the client’s requests (related to the ongoing project milestones), to provide an optimal functioning of the powertrain)
 Manage the testing/validation for the owned system (Mise Au Point/Tuning, Calibration and Validation process), and test programs in accordance with the challenges of client’s requests (new standards) and documenting the related reports
 Manage the testing during the calibration and validation process (e.g. Stationary Engine Bench, Roller Benches, client premises Tracks Testing Facilities vehicle testing)
 Carrying out professional trips with test vehicles in different locations for the validation of the operating strategies at different climate conditions
 Represents the project team and the system team for the owned perimeter
 Ensures and keep the system schedule up to date, provides the milestone synthesis and notice the project team of blocking points at each milestone
